CHAPTER 3

“HE’S THERE?” Natalie said to Sabrina. She had called her after she had gotten out of the shower and dressed. Sabrina could hear the boys and Jason playing at the play set in the backyard from the sounds of the Hi-ya’s coming from the back yard, they were all having a good time.

“Yes! He is here,” Sabrina said whispering.

“Where is he?”

“He’s outside playing with the boys.”

“Then, heffa, why are you whispering?” Natalie said shaking her head.

“Oh. I didn’t even realize I was. See what he has done to my mind?” she told Natalie now speaking at a normal tone.

“Oh, please, your ass has been crazy since 5,” Natalie said chuckling to herself. “Why is he there? Did he tell you he was coming?”

“I don’t know why he’s here. I asked him and he said it was because of how I left but he could have called or skyped to discuss that. He did not have to come all the way here,” Sabrina said putting the last hair pin in her hair. Sabrina had decided to keep everything on a professional level with Jason about twenty minutes after she fucked him in her kitchen starting with her wardrobe. She was wearing a white crop frill shift slim fit peplum blazer jacket coat,a pair of dark blue denim jeans, pink lace trim tank and a pair of pink and white swirl stilettos. She had put her hair in a bun and was adding makeup.

“So you still think that he doesn’t care about you?” Natalie said to her in an unbelieving tone. “He flew over thirteen hundred miles with his five year old to see you at the last minute and you know that ticket was not cheap and you still think he does not care about you?” she asked again.

“I didn’t say he didn’t care about me, Nat. I said Jason is not where I am in his emotional recovery. I said I am more of a sounding board for him than a friend. How can I be? He barely knows me,” Sabrina said.

“Well, he knew your ass well enough to come to your house unannounced and to get your panties off. He knows something,” Natalie said laughing.

“Oh, please, before a couple of days ago, I had not had sex in three years. Pee wee Herman could have got my draws off,” Sabrina said laughing.

“That explains forty minutes ago in your kitchen with your freaky ass. My baby is all grown up. I am so proud,” Natalie said fake crying.

“You are so ignorant, I swear. Why do I talk to you?” Sabrina said. She had walked over to the window and looked out to the back yard where she could see the boys playing. They were running in a circle chasing each other shooting with pretend guns but she didn’t see Jason. ‘Maybe he is in the bathroom or on the patio,’ she thought.

“Because I am the smartest sexiest woman you know. Why would you not?” Natalie said. “So what are you going to do?” she asked.
